I’m pretty excited to see where my blog traffic has taken me for the month of August. If you didn’t check out my very first blog traffic report last month in July, then let me give you a quick update.
July was my first blog traffic report as I technically launched my blog in August. When I say launch, I mean I started to promote my blog posts on social media and actually telling people about my blog.
I’m a stay at home mum to a one year little girl, so everything I do with my blog is in nap times and at bed time so although my time is very limited, I feel like I did get a lot done last month (though at the time it didn’t feel like it!)
When you’re in the thick of things it feels like you are just not getting anywhere, you wonder whether all the time you are spending on your blog is worth it and all you can think about is the mountains of tasks you have left to do.
I hope to use these traffic reports to really be able to stop and take a minute and look at how far I’ve come, or to see if something I was doing wasn’t working.
For August I was able to publish 7 blog posts. These were:

In all honesty, the first three posts were written before August but published at the beginning of the month so I had a few posts there and the site didn’t look so bare.

I do have a Freebie Queen Resource Library that I created several months ago, which has some free resources inside in relation to mindset and manifestation, and while I’m not promoting this heavily, I do let people know about it on some Facebook groups that I’m in.

Before August the minimal traffic I was getting to my site was from members logging into this membership area.
From the period of 1 August – 31 August I had 1,300 page views. Isn’t that awesome! At the beginning of August I had no figure in mind that I wanted to hit. I had no idea what to expect. After the first couple of weeks I started to get 1,000 page views in my head that I’d love to reach.
I’m SO happy to get more than 1,000 page views. My goal for September is to double this and reach 2,000 page views for the month.

37 SUBSCRIBERS
I started August with 2 mailing lists. One is from the subscribers of the Freebie Queen Membership and the other is from a 100 Day Affirmation series of emails I send out called Daily Dose of Happy.
I created a couple of more lists during August. One is an opt in for a freebie which is The Ultimate Guide To Free Feminine Styled Stock Photos. It’s a guide I created that has a bunch of different places you can get free stock photos for your site.
Stock photos can become a large expense in your business and I personally don’t like paying for things I can readily get for free if you just look for them. I thought this would a super helpful guide that tells you where you can get access to over 850 stock photos for free.
I haven’t actually promoted it much, other than some pins on Pinterest and putting it as the main image above the fold on my home page.
I currently have 37 subscribers which is 2 more than last month.
145,500 UNIQUE PAGE VIEWS
1,200 FOLLOWERS
In July’s traffic report I talked about how I had been preparing my Pinterest account for the launch of my blog and as we came to August, I had 388 followers and 80K monthly unique views.
Pinterest is going to be my main focus for driving traffic to my blog and as you can see it is definitely paying off.
At the end of August I had 1,200 followers and am receiving over 145,000 unique monthly page views. This strategy is something I’ll continue to work on.
365 FOLLOWERS
Twitter is currently not a part of my social media strategy. The only thing I have set up is that my Instagram and blog posts are automatically posted to my twitter account. I put no hours or work into it but I currently have 365 followers which is 10 more than last month.
14,551 FOLLOWERS
Instagram is one of my favorite social media platforms and I spend a lot of time there but because I have been focusing on Pinterest, I haven’t spent any time at all on my account.
In fact, I didn’t post anything to Instagram in August. At the end of July my account had 13,477 followers, so my follower count increased by over 1,000 followers for the month.
155 PRIVATE FB MEMBERS
28 PAGE LIKES
I struggle with Facebook. I just don’t know how to get people to follow my pages without paying for advertising, so this platform I’ll be putting a little bit of effort into to learn how to use Facebook properly.
I currently have a private Facebook group called Freedom Queens Collective, where I provide a lot of free content about mastering mindset, growing social media platforms and starting and running online businesses.
This group currently has increased by 11 members in August but I sadly haven’t spent as much time as I’d like in there because of the amount of time I’ve been spending growing my blog content and traffic.
My Freedom Empire business page currently now has 28 likes/followers which is an increase of 5 likes. This came from reciprocal liking in a Facebook group. I don’t really like this strategy though as I feel like the people liking your page aren’t doing it because they are interested in what you’re doing, they just want a like back.
BUT if they do happen to like one of your posts on Facebook it can then be shown to their friends and followers which has the potential for my audience to increase that way.
I’m very happy with how August has gone and I’m going to continue my strategy into September which will be creating more content, sharing it on Pinterest and Facebook and drive more traffic to my site.
